About Bitter Gourd:
Bitter Gourd has been used in various Asian
and African herbal medicine systems
for a long time. In Turkey ,
it has been used as a folk remedy for a variety of ailments, particularly
stomach complaints. In traditional of India different parts of the
plant are used to relieve diabetes, as a stomachic, laxative,
ant bilious, emetic, anathematic agent,
for the treatment of cough, respiratory diseases, skin diseases, wounds, ulcer, gout, and rheumatism.
Receipt
to Cook:
1.
Rinse the bitter Gourd clean.
2.
Cut them in 1/2 or 1/4 inch slices. It is really bitter, if your eating for the
first time. Please slice them even more thinner.
3.
Make a mixture of spices, It can be anything. My recipe includes, onion powder,
garlic powder, coriander powder, Indian Chili powder, Salt,Tumeric. Rub the
spice mixture in the slices of the bitter gourd ensure the spices coat the
slices real good.
4.
You can then pan fry them with little vegetable oil or butter.
5.
Remember it will still be bitter, add few tea spoons of Blue guave or brown
sugar to it.
6. Serve it hot with some
rice.
